Palace Library
The library in the living area was meticulously crafted in the elegant neoclassical style, complete with imposing Greek columns and a grand pediment that exuded a sense of timeless sophistication. Each book cabinet adorning the living room and bedrooms was custom-designed with utmost care to complement the unique ambiance of the respective spaces.
The extensive collection housed within the library boasts a lavish array of leather-bound volumes, gilded with exquisite 22-carat gold accents that lend an air of opulence to the shelves. A diverse array of literary treasures adorns the shelves, ranging from prized antique books dating back to the 1700s, featuring works by illustrious Greek philosophers, revered Roman emperors, and influential European social and political thinkers.
Within these hallowed walls, one can find a comprehensive selection of key western texts on philosophy and government, encompassing seminal works on English and American constitutional history. Notable tomes exploring the origins of the English Constitution, such as the historic Magna Carta, and seminal insights into the American Constitution from the Federalist Papers are just a fraction of the scholarly offerings housed here. Among the classics proudly displayed are multiple editions of Edward Gibbon’s magnum opus, the “Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire,” adding a touch of historical depth to the collection.
Indian history finds its voice amidst the literary treasures, with volumes chronicling the ancient narratives of early India as documented by Arabic and Chinese travelers, alongside insightful accounts of colonial India penned by both English and Indian authors. Delving deeper, one uncovers a rich tapestry of Indian architectural wonders, profound Hindu and Buddhist philosophical treatises, as well as enriching narratives tracing the history and literature of Telugu culture.
And lest we forget the realm of fiction and English literature, the shelves reverberate with timeless classics penned by literary luminaries such as William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, Oscar Wilde, John Donne, John Milton, Bernard Shaw, and Anton Chekhov, each masterpiece adding a unique touch of literary brilliance to the library’s distinguished collection.
